Listening to the brain.
Building tools to understand it.
I study how sound and behavior shape activity in auditory cortex. Along the way, I build tools that connect complex experiments to clearer analysis.

PhD candidate
David Laboratory · OHSUPortland, Oregon
Auditory computation. Natural behavior. Scientific tools.
Current research
Concurrent representation of sound, behavior, and body position in auditory cortex
An example experiment showcasing the acoustic modeling framework I developed during my PhD to study sensory and non-sensory neural activity in freely moving animals.
Manuscript in preparation
With Stephen David at OHSU. Previously, I worked with Barbara Sorg on perineuronal nets, neural dynamics, and memory.
NSF Graduate Research Fellowship, awarded 2022 · BS Neuroscience, WSU, 2018 · Chemistry minor
Software
Built to solve problems at the bench and in the analysis pipeline.
Independent projects +
Dot Motion Lab
A browser-based psychophysics task with motion judgments, reaction times, and psychometric plots.
Head Wave Simulation
A binaural-acoustics prototype using SOFA HRTFs, ear signals, and wavefield visualization.
